Brazil

I'd like to go to Brazil because I like the music, the language (maybe learn some of that) and I think that it could be really fun to go there, meet the people, dance a lot, maybe listen to someone playing' music on the street. I've a friend who went there about 3 years ago and he listened to Cartola playing some of his songs in the street and talkin' to the people who were there. I'd really like to have been there for that time, so I hope that if I go there something like that could happen.
In addition I would like to go there for the next year because It will be the biennial of art and It suppose that in the biennial there will be works of the most of the famous artists in history (like Rembrandt for example or Basquiat, who’s one of my favorites, and I’d really like to see at least one of his works in my life.)
And finally, of course, and not less important is go to the beach (Ipanema), get into the sea, swim or ask someone to teach me how to surf, drink something with the people that I could meet, buy me some clothes or buy films like “proibido proibir”, that’s one of the films that I can’t find here and I like it.

Are Luxury photography books recession-proof

I’ll make you a summary about the article that I read on the website that you gave me.
Its name is “Are Luxury photography books recession-proof?” and it's about Taschen art book and if that business is prolific, and the answer that I had reading this is yes. In one part of the article I read something that the German publisher (Taschen) said and it was that people know how to invest them money, and limited-edition books are a good thing to invest.
Also, when we are thinking that the industry of art books is probably not ludicrous we are on a big mistake, there are people that really like books, art books, or they are art collectors, although, there are people who haven’t money but they are fans of one artist (probably) and they buy the book because the book becomes to them something like a treasure.
If you buy an art book, or a photography book or something like Taschen books are is obvious that you will pay more for that book than an only text book, the limited-edition is one of the most important reasons for that.
And of course that I’m agree with that, probably not with the price that these type of books have here in Chile, but I really like them, I have some of them and I like to see them over and over again, sometimes I pay a lot for them, and it’s because of that that they’re treasures to me. I have a lot of Taschen books with the biography of some of my favorite artists, and I have one of the “BLUME” that is about design illustration and I love it.

Suggested topics

I’d like to suggest some topics like music (favorite songs or groups and explain why we like them), movies (actors, directors, favorite movies, the film that we don’t want to see ever again, or the film that we see over and over again, critics about one, etc), books or literature in general, things from TV ( you know, like tell you what’s our favorite TV series or program or why we dislike some of them), we could write about things that we like but embarrassed us too, we can talk about our classes, our routine, our customs, the typical things that we do when we are alone or when we are in the street or public transport, our dreams house or the place that we'd like to live (cities, countries, etc), the place that we have to visit before death or the thing that we have to do before death.I don’t know what else, but I think that’s enough.

A blog experience

I don’t know if the blog experience was good or not.
Sometimes I discovered that I had such stupid mistakes, and I have some doubts about the spelling of French and Latin that you corrected me, actually I don't know what the problem with that was, and when I saw you at class I forgot to ask you, your post correcting that was not really clear to me.
Now, it doesn't matter how to spell Latin or French because I imagine that you will answer me that.
I have just one problem with the blog experience and that was your last post to me. You told me there that for you my blog seemed like if I had cut and pasted that from another place, but that's not true. I read some things in internet, of course, I don't know the date of Toulousse Lautrec's birthday, so I had to read it and I used some dictionaries (Spanish to English) websites but it doesn't mean that I did the thing that you told that I did.
I think that I don’t need another blog, so I won't be worried about how many words I am writing, because I have nothing else to say about the blog experience, It was not that bad, but sometimes it was really boring to have homework for English class and for the other classes that we have too.

The best in my area

I can't talk about artists that make etching, wich is my area in art, because I don't know too much about them, but in general, like just an artist I have to say that my favorite, the one that I think that is the best artist is Toulousse Lautrec.

He was a painter, draftsman and illustrator who was born in France in 1864, He was specially dedicated to represent the decadent life of those times. He used to paint provocative images of women.
Lautrec was one of the greatest post impresionist painters with Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gaughin and Cézanne among others.

I like him like an artist because how he used to work with colours, the deformation of bodies and the topic of the decadent life in France in his times. He showed the night life of the black sheep of an aristocrat family, who was him, his friends lifes, the places that were his refuges and the things that enjoyed him.
And it didn't matter to him if that tipe of life was bad or good for the rest of the people.

His most famous works were Le toilette (1896),
Ambassadeurs (1892), In bed (1893), marcelle lender on stage (1895), The clown Cha-U-Kao at the Moulin Rouge (1895), jane avril (1899) and salon at the rue des moulins ((1894) -wich is the picture of the right side-)

We can see him like a character in the movie Moulin Rouge, of course that I noticed that, a long time after see the movie for the first time.
But this life that the movie shows us couldn't be so happy like we could imagine. He was an alcoholic for the most of his adult life, so he had an early death at the age of 36.

My future

I would like to be living in Buenos Aires in five years from now, finishing my film studies after arts, I would be in the third year of my film studies, probably taking the direction mention, but now I'm not really sure, maybe I would like to take the writing scripts mention or animation too.
To pay my life there I would sell some of my art works or something like that, of course that I'm talking about an ideal future. But I like to think that it's possible, it doesn't sound like a real crazy thing to me.

Why study in Buenos Aires and not in my actual university in Chile?

It's so simple: There are a lot of free film schools in Argentina, and that free schools are good shools, better than chilean. But the first factor is that I don't have enough money to pay the career month to moth, with the materials (cameras, computer, cds, dvds, cassettes, I don't know what else), the cost of the life (bills), and all those kind of things that includes studying and living in another country.

Personally I would like to live alone for a while. To learn how to do all the things by myself, the time studying there could help me to do that, of course that I don't want to be married with children, that situation couldn't help me at all, a family means a lot of responsibilities, when you have children you can’t do all the things that you want to do, you have to think what want all your family, there's not "just me", and to go and live in another country I have to be "just me". In five years I want to be free of other responsibilities that wouldn't be my bills and my studies, after that, I don’t know, I’ll know that in the moment.

My favorite piece of technology

My favorite piece of technology is my dvd.
I have had dvd's for about 7 years.
I think that is not necessary to write about how I use my dvd, because it's too easy, I think that if I had decided to write about the computer I could answer the question "How I use it?", but it's not the case.
I use it 3 times a week at least.
I like to use it because I love movies, I like to see them over and over again, and discover new things, some details that I didn't see at the first time.
I don't know how could be the life with out it.
It's not possible to stay going to cinema everytime that I want. It would be so expensive. But I have to confess that it would be great, the hot and sweet cinema popcorn, a better sound, bigger images, is a romantic idea to stay going alone to cinema to see the same movie over and over again just because you like it, is like see "Breakfast at tiffany's", a delicious cliché.
But of course that I haven't too much money to do that, maybe I would go to cinema once a week or something like that, on wednesdays maybe to have a cheaper ticket.
